Sharing Our Message

At Second Chance Rescue, we want people to learn how to get involved with animal rescues to reduce the amount of unwanted and abandoned animals.

The question we always receive from our supporters is "how can we help?" With a quick smile, we always reply the same way: share our message.

Share our message by sharing it with your friends. You can do this through social media or through simply talking with those you love about animal welfare. Tell them how important it is to spay and neuter your pets; talk to them about your favorite rescue story.

By spreading the mission of Second Chance Rescue to a larger audience, you are giving animals across the nation a new chance at life.

How else can you share our message? We have some suggestions.
 1. Use the hashtag #secondchancerescue when you're volunteering with us! We'd love to see your pictures and share them with our followers.
2. Invite your friends to "like" our Facebook page. This ensures they'll see our posts and have the chance to interact with them.
3. Purchase Second Chance Rescue gear! We have everything from shirts to fanny packs to water bottles with our logo and mission statement.
4. Bring a friend to our monthly open house. Each month, we open up the sanctuary for an evening so the public can meet our furry, scaly, and feathered friends. When you bring a friend, you are getting one more person involved in rescuing animals in need.

Every day, another animal is left alone. Every time you share our message, you make sure that animal has a chance - a chance to enjoy a sunny day rolling through the grass, a cozy blanket to sleep with, and a place to call home.



Our animals need your help to find the path to a brighter future. Share their stories and speak up for those without a voice.

Feathered Friends Matter

When people think of animal sanctuaries, they often think of puppies and kittens, dogs and cats. What people forget are the thousands of other animal species that are bought as pets each year and likewise abandoned by their families. At Second Chance Rescue, we are keenly aware of the crisis for thousands of birds, reptiles, and rodents that are left with nowhere to go and, quite often, in habitats their bodies are not suited for. Today, we'd like you to meet a member of our avian family. His name is Thunder, and he is a mature white cockatoo. Five years ago, he was purchased from a breeder in Texas and shipped north to Montana. The state is known for its harsh, bone-chilling winters; however, this didn't seem to bother Thunder, as he spent his days inside a temperature-controlled environment.
